The Music Library occupies 11,285 square feet on the first floor of Melville Library, supporting the teaching, performance, and research activities of Stony Brook’s Music Department. From rare manuscript facsimiles to 52 individual listening stations — this is your space to listen, study, and create.

Collection & Borrowing
Students, faculty, alumni, and eligible borrowers may check out materials at the circulation desk. Reference and closed-stack materials — including Cage Collection items and audiovisual media — may be used on the premises only. Items not in our collection can be requested free through Interlibrary Loan.
